Care Team

The Care Team is a multi-faceted ministry spreading our love for Jesus by discerning and providing ways to offer a variety of care for our St. Luke’s community. We try to emphasize that if you sign up for this team you may volunteer for one—or more—from the list below, but no one does everything on this list!

What is the Care Team and what kinds of things does it do?

  • Send out monthly Birthday and Anniversary cards to our church folks.
  • Answer a need that arises: The whole Care Team may be emailed, for a particular need to send a get-well, sympathy or encouragement card to a member. This is always your choice and a voluntary activity.
  • Cook a meal when a Meal Train is set up for an illness or emergency or scheduled surgery, or a birth or death.
  • Visit someone who lives alone or could use some specific help in their home occasionally.
  • Transportation: Occasionally to a medical appointment, a pharmacy pick-up or for groceries or errand. Or provide a ride to church.
  • Walk someone’s dog when they are ill.
  • Prayer: Some want to make prayer their main Care ministry. This is an essential part of what we do.
  • Initiate an outreach for a holiday basket delivery! Creativity is encouraged!
  • As a group, we might host a speaker who would offer helpful information to our overall parish wellness, safety, senior services, end of life, etc.
